GALAITALIA30imgThursday, February 19, 2015 – The Pierre Hotel, New York City

PARTICIPATION INSTRUCTIONS

GALA ITALIA is the most important annual event organized in the United States to promote Italian wine and food. The Gala also highlights top restaurants, food products, fashion, music, the arts and other products of “Made in Italy.” Every year the event greatly benefits from the success of past editions, as well as from several additional features. GALA ITALIA was held for the first time in 1985 and has been held annually ever since. GALA ITALIA is organized by the Italian Wine & Food Institute under the high patronage of the Italian Ambassador in Washington, D.C.

WINE & FOOD TASTING

The Wine & Food Tasting will be held from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Grand Ballroom of The Pierre Hotel, specially arranged and decorated for the event, and will see the presence of the leading Italian wine and food producers and over 500 qualified and selected guests, restaurateurs, and journalists from across the Atlantic Coast of the USA. The Grand Ballroom of The Pierre Hotel, the prestigious venue of GALA ITALIA 30, will be specially prepared for the Gala and supplied with all equipment necessary to implement this initiative, including plates, water pitcher and napkins. Waiters will assure the necessary service by setting up the food stations and delivering the foods assigned to each station. The distribution of the foods and information to the guests will be the responsibility of the producers.

a) – Food Products to be Presented

At the GALA ITALIA 30, each producer or importer of food products can present a wide selection of their own Italian food specialties, including cheeses, prosciutto, salami, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, pasta, sauces, mineral water, espresso coffee, bread, candies, etc. Based upon an expected attendance of over 500 guests at the Gala and the duration of the Tasting, it is recommended to deliver an adequate supply of products so as to avoid running out before the conclusion of the event.

b) – Food Delivery

All the food products should be delivered to The Pierre Hotel in New York, as indicated in the delivery label that will be sent to each participating food company.

c) Certificates of Merit

During the Wine and Food Tasting, participants will receive a special “Certificate of Merit” recognizing their participation in the GALA ITALIA 30.

d) – Invitations

The most qualified wine editors, trade and restaurants from across the Northeast of the USA will be invited to the GALA ITALIA 30 based upon a frequently-updated mailing list. The Italian Wine & Food Institute will follow up with e-mails and letters to invitees, ensuring a high attendance level at the gala. Furthermore, an intensive public relations campaign will be conducted to publicize the event, as well as a series of press releases that will be mailed to wine editors and American press.

e) – Catalog

A special catalog will be printed for the GALA ITALIA 30 that will list: each food station with the producer’s name, station number and food products; the name of the importer; and the importer’s address, telephone and fax numbers. In addition, the catalog will list the featured restaurants and the wine producers and/or importers, with their food products, and all the companies involved in the event. Special recognition will be given to the sponsors. The catalog will be distributed to all guests in attendance at the GALA ITALIA 30. Besides being listed in the catalog, the participating companies will be shown (at no extra cost) on the website of the Italian Wine & Food Institute in the Exhibitors category and, thanks to the producers’ full address indication, website visitors can easily contact the producers.

f) – Registration

Only trade representatives (importers, wholesalers, retailers, wine buyers from various organizations, restaurateurs and sommeliers), wine & food editors and highly-qualified consumers are invited to the GALA ITALIA 30. All guests must register on our website (www.iwfinews.com) starting December 15, 2014.

g)- Badges

All guests will be given “badges” of different colors for each category (press, trade, restaurants, etc.).
